Warm, wet and wonderful in Tavelsjö
This winter seems to never really arrive. It is still above freezing, foggy and damp. Not bad weather for riding really, I quite appreciate it. Today in Tavelsjö was just fantastic, everything was slippery, sliding in all kinds of directions was the order of the day and I really had a good time. There is something special to riding in a bit more demanding conditions, when grip is something that is earned and braking should be avoided at all costs. The trails in Tavelsjö were as good as always, and for once we topped it off with riding the most technical, awkward and trialesque downhill in the area, a place where every meter of advancement is a battle, trackstanding is the most valued skill and rear derallieurs come to die. A great day and a great place to ride a bike, thanks Micke for the company!
Darkness is falling over Stortavelsjön, the water covered by a thin sheet of ice
Oh, and I changed oil on the air side of the Deville forks yesterday, so now they are plusher than kashima plated butter. Brillant brilliant pice of kit!
